Fat Joe Agrees To Speak With Police On Two Florida Murders

Bronx rapper Fat Joe has agreed to talk to Miami Beach police about a shooting that left two dead on Memorial Day.
A teenage nephew originally told the Daily News that the rapper was in Russia when the killing happened, but his lawyer has since said that is not true.
Cops believe Fat Joe was a witness to the shooting because others on the scene said he was in the car with the victims.
Fat Joe, whose real name is Joe Cartagena, left for Russia after the shooting, his attorney Jeffrey Lichtman said. And in any case, he added, his client saw nothing.
"He didn't witness the shooting," Lichtman said, insisting his client was not in the vehicle with the victims.
Lessli Paz, 25, of Jamaica, Queens, and Joey Navarro, 26, of Homestead, Fla., were killed in the violence. Cops arrested Miami resident Jermaine Chamberline, 24, on charges of second-degree murder and possession of a firearm.
Lichtman said he called police when reports surfaced that his client had been at the scene. He told cops Fat Joe could talk to them this week on the phone or in person.
No definite date was set.
