50 CENT - BEFORE I SELF DESTRUCT (Shady/Aftermath/G-Unit)
50 Cent's third solo album on G-Unit Records is likely to be one of the most notable releases of 2007. Though a date has not been confirmed for the album's release, 50 said on the Howard Stern Show last week that it was "85% finished." Production is rumored to come from Timbaland, JR Rotem, and in-house Aftermath producer, Hi-Tek. Bun-B and Chamillionaire are expected to be featured on the album, as well as a number of other artists from inside the Shady/Aftermath Camp. It hasn't been confirmed, but Eminem is also expected to make an appearance on the album.
T.I. - T.I. VS. T.I.P. (Grand Hustle/Atlantic)
T.I. is scheduled to follow up his last incredibly successful album, King, this year with T.I. vs. T.I.P, which is expected to drop sometime in the 2nd quarter. This will be his fourth solo album on his Grand Hustle imprint and features on the album are rumored to include Young Jeezy, B.G., Lil Wayne, and possibly even Jay-Z. Timbaland, Scott Storch, and the Neptunes are said to be some of the producers working on the album.
BEANIE SIGEL - RETURN OF THE MACK (Label N/A)
This album will mark Sigel's departure from Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam camp. Though a label has not yet been confirmed for this release, Sigel discussed his interest in Koch Records on Shade45 a few months ago. Notable producers on this album include Akon and Dre & Vidal. Features from Akon, Busta Rhymes, Scarface, and Ludacris will supposedly be included on the album as well.
JADAKISS - KISS MY ASS (Koch? or Interscope?)
Jadakiss' third album is rumored to be already complete, but it is not clear whether this album will be released on Interscope or Koch. Production will likely come from Hi-Tek, Swizz Beatz, and Scott Storch. Details on this project have been pretty limited, possibility due to an effort to deter bootleggers which was an issue for Styles P.'s new album "Time Is Money".
TALIB KWELI - EARDRUM (Blacksmith/WBR)
Eardrum will mark Kweli's first release on his own label, Blacksmith Records, which is under the Warner Bros. imprint. The album is expected be released in early 2007, and the first single is "Listenn!," produced by Kwame. Other notable producers on the album include Rick Rubin, Hi-Tek, Kanye West, and Madlib. Eardrum's features as said to come from a number of artists, including Sizzla, Norah Jones, Musiq, UGK, and possibly KRS-One.
LITTLE BROTHER - GET BACK (Atlantic)
Get Back will be the North Carolina duo's second official album on Atlantic Records. Phonte and Big Pooh have decided to reach out to outside producers on this album including The Alchemist, Nottz, and possibly DJ Premier. 9th Wonder will also produce a number of tracks on the album, and features will likely come from fellow members of the Justus League, like Darien Brockington and Joe Scudda.
JUELZ SANTANA - BACK TO BUSINESS (Def Jam)
This album is surely to be one of the most anticipated of 2007. Santana, the youngest and arguably most talented member of the original Diplomats crew, will follow up his platinum sophomore album later this year. Production will come from a number of sources, but the Heatmakerz are sure to make an appearance. Features from Lil Wayne, Paul Wall, and the rest of the Dipset crew are also said to be on Back to Business, which will be released on Def Jam.
UGK - UNDERGROUND KINGZ (Jive)
Underground Kingz is sure to be another huge release for 2007 as well. This marks UGK's first album since Pimp C's long overdue return from incarceration and is rumored to be a double-disc album. The production credits are going to include some huge names like Swizz Beatz, Lil Jon, the Runners, Jazze Pha, and Mannie Fresh. The features will also be incredible on this album and confirmed appearances include Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap, Scarface, T.I., Too Short, and even Three 6 Mafia.
RAEKWON - ONLY BUILT 4 CUBAN LINX II (Aftermath)
This will be Raekwon the Chef's first album on Dr. Dre's Aftermath imprint. Production is going to be split between The Rza and Dr. Dre. Other producers like The Alchemist and J. Dilla are also rumored to have worked on this album. There is a new song floating around right now called "I Recall" feat. Smif – N – Wessun, which is said to be on the album. Details around the release date and features are pretty scarce, but I have heard that appearances from Gza, Ghostface, Busta Rhymes, and Nas are in order. John Frusciante, guitarist from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, is also rumored to have worked with the Chef on this album. This should be one of 2007's best and will be released sometime in the summer.
CHAMILLIONAIRE - ULTIMATE VICTORY (Chamillitary/Universal)
This will be Chamillionaire's second solo album on his own label, Chamillitary, which is under Sony/Universal. One of the first singles from the album appeared on Mixtape Messiah 2 a few weeks ago, and it's titled "Hold Up." Koopa has alluded to working with Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Alicia Keys, and T.I. in recent interviews. Rasaq and other members of the Chamillitary will also appear on this album, and production is expected to be top notch, coming from Swizz Beatz, Three 6 Mafia, and The Runners.
REDMAN - RED GONE WILD (Def Jam)
This album will mark Redman's long awaited return to the commercial market and will be released on Def Jam. This album is rumored to be already complete and will be released in the Spring or Summer. Production will come from the Funkdoc himself along with some outside producers like TImbaland and possibly even Eminem. Features from Eminem and Ghostface Killah are supposed to be included on Red Gone Wild as well.
LIL' WAYNE - THE CARTER III (Cash Money/Universal)
This album is also said to be already completed and is expected to be released sometime in the summer. This will mark Weezy's 6th album and will surely be one of the best albums of the year. Production will be handled by The Runners and Scott Storch. No information on features for the album has been released, but I think it's safe to say we'll probably see Fat Joe on here alongside members of the Young Money camp, like Curren$y and Mack Maine.
LUPE FIASCO - THE COOL (1st and 15th/Atlantic)
The Cool will Lupe's second solo album on his label, 1st and 15th, which is under Atlantic Records. Details on this album are very scarce as of now, due to an effort to deter bootlegging. However, it is scheduled to be released sometime in the summer and will likely include appearances from Jill Scott and possibly even members of Pink Floyd. Production is said to come from people like Kanye West, Prolyfic, and possibly the Neptunes.
YOUNG BUCK - BUCK THE WORLD (G-Unit/Interscope)
All the G-Unit fans down south have been waiting patiently on Buck's second solo album, which is sure to make some noise in 2007. This album is scheduled to be released early in the year, possibly sometime in February. The production on this album will come from some big dogs like Dr. Dre, Jazze Pha, Hi-Tek, JR Rotem, Timbaland, and Lil Jon. The features are looking very nice as well and are rumored to include artists like Snoop Dogg, Trick Daddy, 50 Cent, and B.G. A few songs on the album are available now, like "4 Kings" feat. Pimp C, Jeezy, and T.I. and "Do It Myself."
THE ALCHEMIST - CHEMICAL WARFARE (Shady/Aftermath)
Chemical Warfare will be The Alchemist's debut solo album on Shady/Aftermath. The world-renowned producer recently stated that he will rhyme a lot more on this album. He also stated that he was working with a number of artists in the Shady camp for the album. There is no word whether or not Eminem will appear on this album, but Mobb Deep will definitely be featured. Obie Trice and Stat Quo are also said to be on the album, which is slated for a Summer release.
