EVENT: Entertainment Professionals Speak Up For High School Graduates

Some of the entertainment industry’s finest will gather to share encouragement and words of wisdom to the graduating seniors of Washington Preparatory High School, Wednesday June 11th 2008. This influential collection of recording artists, music producers, actors and accomplished entrepreneurs will assemble from 1:30 to 2:30pm at Washington Prep which is located at 10860 S. Denker Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90047.

The graduating class of 500-plus seniors will take a break from the classroom to learn life lessons from the auditorium they won’t soon forget. “This special program was designed to provide these leaders of tomorrow with that extra push many kids need when entering into the real world as an adult,” explains organizer Adell Henderson of The KARMA Foundation. “We’re just excited that the principal, Dr. Gail Greer and her wonderful staff is allowing us the opportunity to contribute to a job well done.”

This program will feature successful Washington Prep alums including Yo-Yo (VH-1’s "Miss Rap Supreme", KDAY), Johnny “J” (multi-platinum music producer, 2pac, Jon B) and Damon Haley (Urban Marketing Corporation of America, Nike). Other notable speakers will include Tatyana Ali (Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Glory Road) and Mad Mike (Pimp My Ride). Several graduates will also receive gift certificates from photo studio Air Philosophy lead by celebrity photographer Kawai Matthews.
