Chingy Signs With Island Def Jam; Speaks Out Against Capitol Records

Chingy has signed a new deal with Island Def Jam and will release his new album "Hate It Or Love It" before the end of 2007.
The new deal and Chingy's rejuvenated media exposure is a result of reconciling with Ludacris and the DTP camp. After a bitter split from DTP following his debut album, Chingy reconciled with the camp at last year's Billboard Music Awards. "Our reconciliation started last year at the Billboard Awards in Las Vegas," Chingy tells Billboard.com. " The whole situation was a misunderstanding because no one ever really talked [it] through. And as the days went on, it got worse. So, we settled it all at the Billboard Awards and left all of the differences in that room."
Chingy is also speaking out against his former record label Capitol. "I don't think Capitol really knew how to work urban artists," he says. "They're really stuck on pop and they didn't know how to market me. I ain't knocking them because that's where I started, but I think that's why they fired a lot of people in the L.A. offices recently. I'm glad I'm off the label."
Confirmed songs for "Hate It Or Love It" include ""Fly Like Me", "They Don't Know" and "Lovely Ladies". Look for guest appearances from Ludacris, Rihanna, Anthony Hamilton and more.
