DJ Rhude & 2520NYC.com - Flagrant Cops
This is an important mixtape. I don't know how many people its going to take to get murdered before there's change. It also takes a DJ Rhude to make this type of mixtape work.
These track highlights aren't on some "who made the best Sean Bell tribute song". That's not what it's about. What it is about is the lyrics and the impact those lyrics should have on the hip hop world. "The KKK don't wear white sheets no more they wear blue shirts"...that's Grafh on "Not Guilty". Perception is reality these days man and that's how cats percieve the cops. How will they change that perception? "It's a cold world thats why when they see us they yell freeze"...that's Joel Ortiz on "50 Shots". I like that Joel offered up some sort of solutions in his rhyme too. "Blue suit, black heart, white face / red lights, black gun, no case"...thats Termanology on "Blue Devils". You hear the patterns? I do. On the real Esso broke down the whole Sean Bell shooting senario of that night to perfection. He let everyone know that it could have been anyone listening in that scenario...not just Sean Bell. Papoose puts it in perspective on "Change Gon Come"..."hope the change get here before the revolution come." As for the classics it's all about "Fuck That Police" and I quote..."Fuck that shit, cuz I ain't tha one / For a punk muthafucka with a badge and a gun / To be beatin on, and throwin in jail / We could go toe to toe in the middle of a cell."
If it's one DJ who is sincere in his plight and who has the credibility for this mixtape it is DJ Rhude. I don't know the type of impact this project will have but at least cats are trying and it's a hell of a lot better than saying "that's fucked up what happened to Sean Bell" and just keeping it moving. Thanks for standing on your own two Rhude and doing what you do.

DJ G Spot - Terminate On Sight
Everyone give G Spot a round of applause please. He had the Lil Wayne mixtape dropping, and I’m assuming about to be pressed up if not already and after the Lil Wayne Gate incident he scrapped the whole thing. Not too many DJs have morals or live by a code these days so when a DJ does take a stand it should be highlighted and even more so…emulated.
I can tell this project energized G Spot, you can hear it in the first couple of tracks. He got his remix on!! I’ve seen cats on the internet down playing the new G Unit album as if cats aren’t checking for it…get the fuck outta here. “I Like The Way She Do It” is in 9 out of 10 cars right now bumping loud as hell. G Spot pimped the track out with his remix…bitch better have my money after listening to this one. Then he proceeded to add Common to the “Royal Flush” remix…beat on beat blended too. Royce Da 5’9” can still rhyme…as evident on “Done Talkin. Dude got some shit to get off his chest. Not sure how much of Budden “diss” that was tho. Shout to Drastic still doing his thing on joints like “You Know You Should”. Midwest MCs stand up. Shit lagged a little with “This Is The Life” remix and “Lil Freak”. I mean the tracks are cool but that energy from the first 8-9 tracks is gone. G Spot putting Maino on the remix for “Put On” was kinda fly. Maino got a hit on his hands, with “Hi Hater”, let’s see if the DJs run with it or not. The sleeper track is “How We Raised” by Mick Luter. Never heard of dude but that track has soul for days and the word play is proper too. Bredwinna is a sleeper too tho. “Dat’s Tight” is polished as hell and the piano in the beat had me open. “I Want In” has one of the worst hooks I’ve ever heard. What was Nas thinking? Damn. Don’t sleep on that Chip Tha Ripper “Fresh Fly” joint either.
Dead ass real the mixtape started off on fire, the energy was real. As stated above tho shit lagged a little in the middle G Spot was able to bring it back at the end. I’m def diggin Doo Wop’s “Go DJ 2008”. One thing you can never front on is Doo Wop’s MIC game and G Spot’s mixtape consistency.

DJ 2Mello - Undercover RnB - Time For Some Action
It is without a doubt time for some action. The summer is heating up…literally. Vagina’s will be sweaty and thongs will be popped as RnB crushes it’s bastard child “hip hop” in albums sales and in overall mass appeal right now. 2Mello is fresh off the success of “Summer Breeze Slow Jams” and by the smell of all the panties that dropped because of that project he may just need to drop “Summers Eve…the big Douche” to help freshing the ladies back up to par.
I don't know about you but that Usher album is pretty damn good. "Trading Places" is smooth and it's got no MC featured which is always a plus these days. I never heard R.City before but "Losing It" is type fly with a mello bounce. Mario stays with a well written song and "Hello" is no different. I like how he worked Joe Budden into the mix with "Things You Do"...that was a different look and it was proper. I'm not ashamed to say I fuck with the "I Luv Your Girl" remix. I think the radio is getting to me. I had to laugh at "Deez Hoes" by Ray L. Shit was catchy but some of those lines had corny written all over them. On the RnB insider side of things you got Kimberly Gibbs. I was diggin' "One In A Million". That joint got a knock and a somewhat postive message to it too.
You got to love 2Mello’s formula and the fact he’s perfected his transitions. The flow of the CD is undeniable. He laces you with some hits, some new shit and of course those undercover/un-discovered talents on the R&B side of things. What else you want him to do?
