What’s good everybody?? You know what time it is. It’s Mr. Democratic Nominee/blogger extraordinaire St. James aka NO’Drama!!!! Last week we looked at the Democratic primaries and Hilary’s victory in WV and why she won’t quit that god awful thing they call a Democratic Nomination Process. Well Barack of course moved inches closer by winning Oregon and Hillary kept her arguments valid by winning over the “working class” (aka white racist people) in Kentucky. But I want to take a pause from that race (because it’s over already) and focus on the new challenge/kryptonite that Superman will face in the new “Smallville” version we call the general election. That man and kryptonite is John McCain and the Republican Party.
I wanted to take a minute to introduce everybody to the man known as John McCain. He is an American hero. He fought valiantly in the Vietnam War including being a prisoner of war for 7 YEARS in the world infamous “Hanoi Hilton”. He is the son of an Admiral who turned down the opportunity to leave his comrades in that hell hole because they couldn’t join him (it would’ve been deuces). He’s a Naval Academy graduate. He grew from a war hero to help guide our country in the halls of the Senate. The man even survived being SUCKED THROUGH A JET ENGINE ON AN AIRCRAFT CARRIER!! (That is more hard body than any of you rappers out here bustin’ your guns by the way) In summary, you could probably make a movie about all this man has gone through in his life. With that being said, you can also make a long list of things that were invented AFTER he was born. Hmmmmm let’s see...the 1st TV commercial, penicillin, the zip code, duct tape, 93% OF THE COUNTRY!!!! (go here to find a list of things younger than John McCain www.thingsyoungerthanmccain.com) All of these things are younger than our Republican nominee which means that he has seen a lot done a lot and should have that wisdom to lead us all right??? Well it’s kind of like your uncle who still rolls around in a 1972 Mustang, with a cigarette pack in his sleeve, talking that “Jive Turkey” stuff. You know he’s older than you, you know he should know more than you but somehow he just doesn’t quite connect to what’s really going on this world. This is how I look at Mr. McCain. (It’s just my opinion but it’s my blog too) I know that in past times (namely the 8 years of HELL and purgatory we just went through) Mr. John McCain may have actually earned my vote. I’ve met the man. I know that he has good character, values and courage that ANY man would love to possess but somehow he just seems past his time. Had the Republicans chosen him instead of “Dubya” I have no doubt that he would have made better decisions and AT LEAST got ONE thing right out of the War, the economy, Katrina, or global warming. (Of which “Dubya” is 0-4) I have no doubt that he would have taken the war on terror seriously (if there ever was one) and protected us as Americans. He has been as honest to admit that he doesn’t know much about the economy which doesn’t entirely bother me because who the hell really does??? This thing is so complex that no ONE man could ever try to balance a 9 TRILLION DOLLAR debt by themselves. (Not without blowing their brains out first) So that’s why you hire underlings like the Vice President, The Secretary of this and that, etc. But what has happened here is that we are now at a crossroads as Americans. We now enter a new technological age where new energy will HAVE to be discovered, new ways of fighting conducted and new ideas coming to the forefront. I am not so sure that a 30s baby aka MR. 1936 (his birth year) aka Senator John McCain should be the same one to lead us into this age. This is a fight for the our spirit and mind as a country and the same old World War 2 ideas (of which he can probably recite) will not hold up in this day and time. You cannot fight the “War on Terror” with Civil War Era Generals. It’s like asking Jay-Z to start wearing throwback jerseys again. He wouldn’t be able to understand that THAT is how you touch the youth. To IDENTIFY with them and ENGAGE them. We need new leaders and a new future and I’m sorry but this American War Hero may be what we called “Passed his Time”. So what he and the rest of the “Old Party” need to realize is that we as Americans no longer want to engage in the same “chest thumping, world policeman, criminal role” that we have played for the past 100 years. We would like to focus on getting our kids education, putting people back to work, and CHANGING things in Washington. We are tired of destroying other countries for our “So-called” best interests. We’ve been in Iraq 5 years and gas has GONE UP to $25 a gallon! How does that serve my interest?? Bottom line it’s time for a new and fresh leadership core to take this great nation to the next frontier. I only hope that the “working class” voters understand that time is like love…when it’s gone it’s gone. Use it wisely before it passes you by. Peace and keep it 100!
