Alright, I'm from the south, but I really hate how everybody praises Lil' Wayne like he is the best rapper the ever walk the face of the earth. To me, he is FAR below people like Nas, Scarface, Jay-Z, UGK, Ludacris, and even new guys like Papoose. I just wanna know what everybody else thinks, cause I would rather listen to Juvenile and B.G. WAY more than Wayne.

I've honestly never figured out why he's got so much of a following. He needs to open his mouth when he rhymes, He needs to close it when it comes to talking shit bout ANY other Mc's & finally keep it the fuck away from other males.... That was some strange shit that no ones gonna forget...

Yeah, hes overratted i think also. Hes good, dont get it twisted, but jayz should get 50% of his publishing. And he shows flashes of some serious rap skills and then puts out some BS. I think we( the south) give him way to much credit.

Well I'm from the Chi (Chitown). I don't ride Joc's. I give credit where credit is due. From Drop Drop it like it's hot, ect... Lil wayne have blessed us with what ever we're in the mood for. He's plays on track to show it's nothing, then he gets on your track to show it's nothing, then on his track. You already know. Yes Jay-Z is great. Lil wayne is what it is now though. Jay-Z = MJ in his Prime, but Lil Wayne is the Labron James of the Game. You respet him, because the proof is in the flow. It's don't matter if you double rap, freestyle, write, ect Lil Wayne is that Fire. My main man Twista, don't sleep on him neither. best Rapper doesn't mean best swagge, nor best buiness man/person. It's the person you find in someone radio, but you hate on him. I use to hate on Jay-z, but I had every CD. Didn't make since. I like Jay, but I listen to Wayne now. Chitown .

I have no clue why Lil' Wayne is all of sudden good. He has been with Cash Money Millionaires before he got all this praise so its not like he is this hot new artist. I personally hate Lil' Waynes music, its straight up garbage. He didnt deserve praise back then and he doesnt deserve any now. To respond to the previous comment does GZA have a new album coming out?? i wasnt aware or have heard anything but if he does im all for it because his shit is amazing. Grandmasters was a very good album and who could forget Liquid Swords.

You can have ur opinion Lil JoJo rofl, but to me Hip Hop will and always will be New York as long as the south is making them crap ass dance music. Go look at an average rap fans top 10 list, and u'll notice that 8+ of the rappers will be from New York. There is a reason for that. Yes, creations are made so that other people can try it, and the south can try all they want, but New York will still be where real Hip Hop is.

Just a reply to Smithzer: The South is not killin' hip hop as long as we have guys like Scarface, UGK, OutKast, Ludacris and now Chamillionaire. They won't let pieces of shit like UNK, D4L, Bow Wow, Webbie, or DFB bring rap into the ground. And as long as their ARE guys like Nas, Jay, Common, Papoose, and Wu-Tang, hip hop music WILL be held to a high standard. Another thing, every state has great rappers, and every state has pieces of shit rappers.
