I just got THE phone call.
This Thursday I'm opening for Jay-Z at the Globe Arena in my hometown – Stockholm! I've opened for Rihanna, Akon, and Busta Rhymes, but this… This is something special for everyone that's been involved with my music from day one. Jay-Z is arguably the biggest hip-hop act in the world right now. I ain't gonna lie and say that I've listened to Jay-Z since Reasonable Doubt 'cause I haven't, but I know at least a hand-full of people in my crew that have.
I started listening to Jigga when he dropped The Blueprint. Before that I was into other acts. Acts like Mobb Deep and Nas played on heavy rotation in my stereo. I remember sitting down listening to "It Was Written" and "I Am" as a youngin. I don't think I've been able to listen to an album in the same way since then. I just couldn't relate to any other music the way I related to hip-hop. I guess that's why I fell in love with that shit.
Anyway, back to the subject. Opening up for Jigga… I guess this will sting in the eyes of those, who don't want to see us in this position. Yes people, hating made it all the way out here too. I seems like hating is the only universal theme in hip-hop. Why is that? Ponder that, haters! I'll be busy preparing for the show. We are going to mash that stage up... trust me!
